Organised by Weymouth Angling Centre the 2017 Cod Open takes place at Chesil Beach, Abbotsbury on Sunday 15th October 2017. Please note this is a Cod only competition.

£5.00 Juniors, OAP's, Optional Pairs
Rules
- One rod and three hooks can be used. A spare rod can be set up without terminal tackle. Pre baiting of rigs is permitted.
- No bait restrictions.
- Area of fishing: From 'Marker' past Dragons Teeth to 'Marker' past Coastguard Cottages. The boundaries will be clearly marked.
- NFSA rules apply.
- All cod to be signed in by a Steward on a score card immediately after capture.
- Stewards have the right to carry out random bag checks.
- All anglers to sign in from 9.00am and walk to fishing positions from car park. Fishing 11am to 5pm
- If weather conditions are deemed unsafe to fish the organisers may cancel the competition.
- Any anglers found littering their peg will be disqualified. Rubbish bins will be provided at registration and weigh in area.
- Stewards cannot mark their own card.
- Any anglers found marking their own card will be disqualified.
- Last bags to be in by 18.00 hrs. Any bags after this time will be disqualified.
- Should no Cod be caught the prize table will be rolled over to next year. If only one Cod is caught then that will win the heaviest bag. The heaviest cod prize will be rolled over to next year.
- Minimum size scoring fish is 35cm, if undersized Cod are brought back to the scales the angler will be disqualified.
- Any prize unclaimed will be added to the raffle table, your competitor number is a free entry into the raffle. More tickets will be on sale. Prizes only given to anglers in attendance of prize giving.

- £1000 Heaviest Bag (cod only)
- £500 Heaviest Cod (same angler cannot win both)
- Fantastic Prize Table Top Junior, Top Lady, Top OAP
