Our Story

Weymouth Angling Centre was established in 1996 by Andy and Charlotte Selby. Over the past 27 years, it has earned a strong reputation for offering one of the most extensive ranges of sea angling products, backed by trusted advice and local knowledge from a friendly, experienced team.

Andy and his staff carefully select both popular and specialist products from leading industry brands, catering to anglers across sea, coarse, and carp disciplines. The approachable, knowledgeable team are passionate about fishing, always ready to provide honest advice on any product and share valuable local fishing insights.

Affectionately known as WAC, Weymouth Angling Centre is proud to have built a loyal customer base while continuing to welcome new visitors both in-store and online every day.

Just moments from the picturesque Weymouth Harbour on the stunning Jurassic Coast, the shop is open seven days a week. The online store offers 24/7 shopping, a detailed guide to local fishing opportunities, and support for the area’s thriving charter boat fleet.

Meet The Team

Andy Selby

As You may have read from the above Andy opened the centre in 1996 for anglers that share the same love for the sport. In that time Andy has fished all over the world from Norway to costa Rica and catching some fantastic fish along the way specializes in all aspects of boat angling and holiday fishing.

Charlotte Selby

We introduce you to our real Captain and Andy's partner in crime with 26 Years in the trade you could say she knows her stuff. Known as the first women to win the Swedish summer cod festival back to back! its easy to say Charlie likes to show the men how to fish.

Harry

The longest serving member of the team, With experience of fishing for carp overseas, his vast knowledge of the carp world is valuable to us. It goes without saying in his 14 years of service, this man knows his stuff about all aspects of fishing.

Mackie

The legend has returned. With knowledge of all aspects of fishing, this man could catch a fish in the local swimming pool. Sea fishing is his speciality, but also a very competent coarse angler. You may recognize Mackie from some youtube videos, with a keen eye to detail and patience of a saint, you can always pick his brains.

Shaun

Fishing Locally since he was 11 Shaun's knowledge stretches far as out an out sea angler. There's not much he hasn't fished for in our waters well known in the lure fishing seen as one of the Dorset lure club admins as well as being a brand ambassador for Sakura uk he specializes in anything lure related for bass. Competing & Running competitions all over the uk.

Keilan

Our youngest member of the team and apprentice to Harry and Mackie. Fishing runs in this boys blood. Very keen to be out fishing, he knows his stuff about sea and coarse, although he is young he is way ahead of his time.
